Taking up the NaBoPoMo challenge

  Blog 1

I have decided to take up the National Blog Posting Month Challenge to post a blog every day for the entire month of November. There are no themes, rules or word count.  I am already 3 blog posts late and have further challenged myself to make this up by writing 2 posts on 3 non consecutive days.

National Blog Posting Month was created by Eden Kennedy as an alternative to National Novel Writing Month where you commit to writing a novel in a month – something which I would like to do and thought that this was a good way of finding out if I have the discipline and commitment!

I love challenges as they are a good way of stretching yourself and finding out how you cope in and with new situations. I am already thinking:

  • What will I do when I run out of things to say? Where will I find inspiration?
  • Will I be reduced to writing mundane things that no one wants to read?
  • Where will I find the time to write a blog every day?

Having checked out the website and the Twitter hashtag #NaBloPoMo I can see that there are many out there who have similar concerns. There is also much help and support as well and a sense of people engaging with and supporting each other.

My apologies in advance if I seem to be popping up in your Twitter / LinkedIn / WordPress feed with notifications of new posts. I shall try my best to keep my posts interesting and readable and would welcome any feedback and suggestions for blog topics.

How do you cope with challenges?

What strategies have you used that have been successful?

Love to hear from you
